Meet Our Staff

FULL-TIME STAFF

Theresa Padron
Theresa is our Program Director and has been running our gymnastics programs for the past 10 years. Prior to this she and her husband owned their own gymnastics business for 20 years.

She has over 30 years of teaching experience with all programs including Preschool, Recreation, and Team. She has coached girls to National Levels and also helped them attain college scholarships. She is USAG Pro Member and USAG Safety Certified and CPR/First Aid Certified.


Kristen HuntKristen Hunt
Kristen is our Head Team Gymnastics Coach and has led our gym’s competitive and profile program since August 2006. She was a gymnast for 14 years and a level 10 gymnast at Greenville Gymnastics. Kristen won the S.C. state all around champion six different years and graduated from Eastside High School (Greenville, S.C.) in 1999. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in PRTM - Sports Management from Clemson University in 2004.

Kristen has coached all levels for the last 10 years, from Preschool classes to Level 10 team gymnasts. She has coached at Greenville Gymnastics (Greenville, S.C.), Easley gymnastics (Easley, S.C.), WEGA gymnastics (Asheville, N.C.), Arkansas Athletics and Arts Center (Searcy, AR), and now Charleston Gymnastics (Charleston, S.C.). She is a USAG Pro Member and is also USAG Safety and CPR/First Aid Certified.


Meg Trott
Meg began coaching at Charleston Gymnastics in 1996 and has over ten years of experience teaching Preschool, Recreation, All-Star Cheer and Team levels. When she was younger, she took several years of dance and gymnastics, and was reintroduced to the sport as a cheerleader at James Island High School, where she served as co-captain/captain and choreographed routines for statewide competitions, in addition to participating in softball and track.

Meg earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the College of Charleston in 2002 and will complete her Master’s degree in Communication in Summer 2009. She has previously worked as a communications professional for the College of Charleston, Blackbaud, and LifePoint, Inc., and is a USAG Pro Member and USAG Safety Certified.


PART-TIME STAFF

Kristin DavidsonKristin Davidson
Kristin was a gymnast for ten years and took ballet for five years. She has coached at Charleston Gymnastics for four years, teaching Preschool, Recreation, and Prep Opt. Team levels.

Kristin received a Bachelor's degree in English from the College of Charleston in May 2007 with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Theatre. She is a USAG Pro Member and is also USAG Safety and CPR/First Aid Certified.


Melissa DavidsonMelissa Davidson
Melissa began taking gymnastics when she was just two years old and continued for 12 years, competing at level seven. Her biggest honor was getting to compete in San Juan, Puerto Rico against girls from all over the world. Melissa later did competitive cheerleading through high school.

She has coached for three years at Charleston Gymnastics, primarily teaching Recreation and Preschool classes and occasionally working with various Team levels. Melissa is currently attending the Culinary Art Institute to become a chef and is CPR/First Aid Certified.


Maria FoxMaria Fox
Maria has been in gymnastics since she was four years old and competed at level 10 with Charleston Gymnastics for four years. She is now a member and officer of the Clemson Gymnastics Club team at Clemson University, where she is a rising senior majoring in Architecture.

Maria has coached at Charleston Gymnastics for over four years, and enjoys working with all levels and ages, including Preschool, Recreation, and Team. During the school year she competes and helps coach her teammates on the Clemson Gymnastics Club team, which is actively seeking Varsity status at the University.


Anna Gray
Anna was a level 8 competitive gymnast at Greenwood YMCA Gymnastics, where she also coached preteam for three years. She has been coaching Recreation, Preschool, and Team levels at Charleston Gymnastics for three years and was a visiting coach at Woodward Gymnastics Camp in 2007.

Anna recently received her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from College of Charleston and looks forward to a career in prosthetics. She is a USAG Pro Member and is also USAG Safety and CPR/First Aid/Life Guard Certified.


Ginny Leeson
Ginny began her gymnastics career at age 7 in Germany and continued for nearly ten years at Charleston Gymnastics (previously Lowcountry Gymnastics). She was also a thrower for the Summerville High School track team, where she graduated in 2004.

Ginny has coached at Charleston Gymnastics for nearly four years at many levels, including Preschool, Recreation and Team. She is the head coach for the Prep Opt. team, and is a USAG Pro Member, USAG Safety Certified, First Aid/CPR certified, and has completed Darkness to Light sexual abuse training. She recently received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Charleston Southern University and has signed a contract with the Charleston County School District for next year, with plans to also further pursue her education.


Paul Padron


Matt RobertsMatt Roberts
Matt has worked in many areas of athletics, including two years of coaching the Boys' Gymnastics Team at Thomas Gymnastics (Rock Hill, S.C.) and working as a baseball umpire for little league teams. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 2007, where he played baseball, football, and was the 4A State Runner-Up and Upperstate/Regional wrestling champion.

Matt works with our recreation classes and team levels and is currently attending the College of Charleston to study Exercise Science. After graduating in 2011, he hopes to start a career in physical therapy.


Megan Williams
Megan Williams comes to us from Alabama, where she brings over five years of coaching experience to our gym and competed in the sport for 13 years. She has coached gymnastics at all levels, from Mommy & Me classes to competitive team Level 8.

Megan will be teaching preschool classes and working with our competitive team program while earning a Bachelor's degree in Arts Management at the College of Charleston.
